(1-4) D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia<\/strong>: Started all 16 games at left tackle.\u00c2\u00a0 Played well overall but had some weak games against top competition.\u00c2\u00a0 Had trouble keeping weight on as the season progressed.\u00c2\u00a0 Solid player with a great future.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: B+<\/p>\n

(1-29) Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State<\/strong>: Started all 16 games at center as a rookie.\u00c2\u00a0 Quickly adjusted to making line calls and was more consistent than Ferguson but may not have as much upside.\u00c2\u00a0 Should start for years to come.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: A<\/p>\n

(2-49 Kellen Clemens, QB, Oregon<\/strong>: Appeared in one game and threw one incomplete pass.\u00c2\u00a0 Was viewed as a project and is learning the offense.\u00c2\u00a0 Did what was expected of him. The Jets will be eager to see how he performs in preseason.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: B<\/p>\n

(3-76) Anthony Schlegel, LB, Ohio State<\/strong>: Appeared in only four games and was in on one special teams tackle.\u00c2\u00a0 The fact that he was inactive so often was not a good sign.\u00c2\u00a0 Unless Schlegel shows vast improvement in his second season, he may be considered a wasted pick.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: D<\/p>\n

(3-97) Eric Smith, S, Michigan State:<\/strong> Hard hitting saw action in 15 games, making 27 tackles.\u00c2\u00a0 Played primarily in nickel and dime packages as well as some special teams.\u00c2\u00a0 Smith made two interceptions and he should continue to provide quality depth in 2007.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: B<\/p>\n

(4-103) Brad Smith, WR, Missouri<\/strong>: Made the transition from college quarterback to NFL wide receiver and showed promise.\u00c2\u00a0 He played in all 16 games making nine catches for 61 yards, rushing 18 times for 103 yards as well as returning one punt.\u00c2\u00a0 He also excelled on special teams.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s just a matter of time before the Jets have him throwing an option pass.\u00c2\u00a0 A lot of potential if the Jets can figure out how to best utilize him.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: C<\/p>\n

(4-117) Leon Washington, RB, Florida State<\/strong>: Led the Jets with 650 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns.\u00c2\u00a0 He also caught 25 passes for 270 more yards and returned 13 punts. Washington is an ideal change of pace back but at 5’8\u00e2\u20ac?, many scouts doubt he could be a workhorse.\u00c2\u00a0 So far, he has done everything asked of him.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: B<\/p>\n

(5-150) Jason Pociask, TE, Wisconsin<\/strong>: Injured his left shoulder early in training camp and was place on the IR for the season.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: Incomplete<\/p>\n

(6-189) Drew Coleman, DB, Texas Christian:<\/strong> Made 27 tackles and one sack while playing in all 16 games for the Jets.\u00c2\u00a0 Started three games but spent most of his time in nickel and dime packages and did a good job.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: B<\/p>\n

(7-220) Titus Adams, DE Nebraska<\/strong>: Spent most of the year on the Jets practice squad before being signed by the NY Giants in early December.\u00c2\u00a0 Did not appear in a regular season game.\u00c2\u00a0 Grade: F<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
