{"id":8449,"date":"2011-07-18T02:36:39","date_gmt":"2011-07-18T06:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=8449"},"modified":"2011-07-18T02:36:39","modified_gmt":"2011-07-18T06:36:39","slug":"lockout-winding-down-where-it-stands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2011\/07\/18\/lockout-winding-down-where-it-stands\/","title":{"rendered":"Lockout Winding Down; Where It Stands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are so many reports about the NFL lockout being close to coming to an end.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/6776103\/nfl-lockout-mediation-tap-league-meeting-looms\" target=\"_blank\">ESPN.com<\/a> has an excellent recap of where things stand right now.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The new deal will be for 10 years.<\/li>\n<li>Owners and players will return to the negotiating table in a mediation  setting on Monday and Tuesday to settle a handful of unresolved issues.<\/li>\n<li>The owners could ratify the new CBA on Thursday at the league meetings in Atlanta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When would the season start?\u00a0 According to Chris Mortenson, it would be on time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>League-wide free agency would start on 7\/25.<\/li>\n<li>Teams would have a 72 hour window leading up to 7\/25 to sign their own free agents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What changes would be made to training camp and off-season workouts?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One key concession made by the owners will effectively  eliminate two-a-day practices during training camp as a health and  safety issue that players termed critical to an agreement, the sources  said.<\/li>\n<li>Teams will be allowed to have some helmetless and padless  non-contact walk-through practices in lieu of a second training camp  practice on the same day.<\/li>\n<li>Teams  will also reduce offseason workouts from 14 on-field organized team  activities (practices) to nine.
