{"id":81621,"date":"2025-09-30T00:58:51","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T04:58:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=81621"},"modified":"2025-10-01T06:54:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T10:54:23","slug":"jets-defense-flops-against-fish-in-27-21-loss-to-dolphins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2025\/09\/30\/jets-defense-flops-against-fish-in-27-21-loss-to-dolphins\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Defense Flops Against Fish in 27-21 Loss to Dolphins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jets Defense Flops Against Fish in 27-21 Loss\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/klLl7sJLXI4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While the final score at Hard Rock Stadium would suggest the Jets were competitive against the Miami Dolphins, it certainly didn&#8217;t feel that way if you were watching the action live.\u00a0 Was there reason for optimism early on?\u00a0 Certainly.\u00a0 Did the Jets do all they could to erase that optimism as quickly as possible?\u00a0 They certainly did.<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-81621-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/api.spreaker.com\/v2\/episodes\/67947185\/download.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/api.spreaker.com\/v2\/episodes\/67947185\/download.mp3\">https:\/\/api.spreaker.com\/v2\/episodes\/67947185\/download.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>After falling behind 3-0 early on, the Jets steamrolled the Dolphins down to their own goal line with one running play after another.\u00a0 Breece Hall, Allen and Isaiah Davis all saw carries out of the backfield as they appeared posed to take command early on.\u00a0 Then it was Allen who, en route to what looked like a sure touchdown, coughed up the football on the goal line.\u00a0 The Dolphins picked up the fumble, and marched down for a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of a 7-3 lead, it was a 10-0 deficit.\u00a0 Nick Folk would connect on a career best 58-yard field goal before the half to make it 10-3 going in to the half, but then disaster would strike again.<\/p>\n<p>Having already fumbled earlier in the day, Braelon Allen started off the second half by fumbling the kickoff away to the Dolphins and Miami capitalized with another touchdown to Darren Waller.\u00a0 It was then 17-3, and the best the Jets could hope for was to not let the Dolphins run away with a multiple touchdown blowout.<\/p>\n<p>Miami continued to lead throughout and appeared to let the Jets back in it on a Justin Fields 43 yard touchdown run, but Miami would counter with another score on a 9-yard run from Devon Achane.\u00a0 It was another sloppy defensive play for the Jets as multiple would-be tacklers missed Achane as he found the end zone.<\/p>\n<p>Down by fourteen with just a couple of minutes to go, Garrett Wilson hauled in a 23-yard touchdown pass from Fields but that was as close as Gang Green would get.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Garrett.
