{"id":7919,"date":"2011-04-29T09:09:25","date_gmt":"2011-04-29T13:09:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=7919"},"modified":"2019-11-28T06:00:24","modified_gmt":"2019-11-28T10:00:24","slug":"american-dream-meadowlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2011\/04\/29\/american-dream-meadowlands\/","title":{"rendered":"American Dream @ Meadowlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The hideous looking and stalled retail project in the Meadowlands (Xanadu) may soon be getting a much needed jump start.\u00a0 There are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnyc.org\/blogs\/wnyc-news-blog\/2011\/apr\/28\/will-heroes-behind-mall-america-rescue-njs-xanadu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several reports<\/a> stating that the owners of the Mall of America (Triple Five Group) are in the final stages of negotiating a deal to take over the space.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Triple Five&#8217;s Mall of America is twice the size of the current Xanadu  footprint and includes over 500 stores and an aquarium. Triple Five, a  Canadian based multinational held by the Ghermezian family, also owns  the massive West Edmonton Mall in Canada. Four out of 10 of Mall of  America&#8217;s visitors are tourists.<\/p>\n<p>From it&#8217;s inception, Xanadu&#8217;s proximity to the brand new Jets\/Giants  stadium, the troubled Meadowlands racetrack and the 20,000 seat IZOD  Arena were all supposed to reinforce the Meadowlands as a major tourist  destination.
