{"id":77763,"date":"2025-04-25T09:59:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=77763"},"modified":"2025-04-25T09:59:52","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:59:52","slug":"with-membou-in-the-fold-who-are-jets-best-day-2-options","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2025\/04\/25\/with-membou-in-the-fold-who-are-jets-best-day-2-options\/","title":{"rendered":"With Membou in the Fold, who are Jets Best day 2 Options?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Jets stayed true to their word in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/2025\/04\/24\/analyzing-how-armand-membou-fits-into-the-ny-jets-offense\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>drafting Armand Membou<\/strong><\/span><\/a> with the seventh overall pick as they look to give Justin Fields a chance to &#8220;just play quarterback&#8221; this season.\u00a0 The Jets project Membou as a starting RT who would give them one of the best young offensive lines in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>With Membou in the fold, who are some of the top options on day 2 where the Jets currently hold picks 42 and 73?\u00a0 Let&#8217;s take a look.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WR Luther Burden:\u00a0<\/strong>Talented enough to get picked in round 1, pre-draft rumors swirled that claimed there were some character concerns for Burden that were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/missouri\/football\/eli-drinkwitz-defends-luther-burden-over-alleged-pre-draft-character-concerns-01jqsg40w7x9\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>refuted by his coaches<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Burden did see a significant drop in production from 2023 to 2024 as he went from 1,212 to 676 receiving yards. However, this could be largely attributed to Mizzou QB Brady Cook dealing with nagging injuries.\u00a0 Burden is an explosive receiver with excellent hands who can make guys miss after the catch.\u00a0 He has also been used as a gadget player as he found the end zone four times on running plays.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Looks like 2025 will be another class with tons of WR talent.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MizzouFootball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MizzouFootball<\/a> WR Luther Burden should be one of the top pass catchers available. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Li0uAygAaX\">pic.twitter.com\/Li0uAygAaX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Glenn Naughton (@JetsPicks) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JetsPicks\/status\/1786543961126949082?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><strong>WR Elic Ayomanor:\u00a0<\/strong>If you liked Tetairoa McMillan in round 1 but didn&#8217;t get him, Ayomanor is the next closest thing on day two but also plays with a bit more of a mean streak when asked to block.\u00a0 We think that can be something that catches the eye of Aaron Glenn and makes Ayomanor a high probability target.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nyjets?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@nyjets<\/a> can go in a lot of different directions on day two.  One serious consideration should be Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor.  Incredible hands, body control and loves getting after it as a blocker. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9q4E8IA18V\">pic.twitter.com\/9q4E8IA18V<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Glenn Naughton (@JNRadio_Glenn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JNRadio_Glenn\/status\/1915765825094476249?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 25, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><strong>Edge Donovan Ezeiruaku:\u00a0<\/strong>Edge is another spot that should be a priority on day two and Ezeiruaku is one of the top players still on the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TE Mason Taylor:\u00a0<\/strong>The LSU pass catcher and son of Dolphins great Jason, Mason Taylor is a player who has a good chance to be more productive in the NFL than he was at LSU.\u00a0 A solid blocker and good route runner who would bolster what is a very weak Jets tight end room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S Nick Emmanwori:\u00a0<\/strong>The casual fan may not be excited over the possibility of taking a safety this early, but Emmanwori is legitimately 1 of 1.\u00a0 Just look at the success Aaron Glenn had in Detroit with Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch and imagine giving him this &#8220;built in a lab&#8221; chess piece whose athletic profile might be the best you&#8217;ll ever see at the position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WR Tre Harris:\u00a0<\/strong>Continuing to build around Justin Fields or whoever the Jets QB of the future is should be a priority and by targeting Harris you do just that.\u00a0 A receiver with very good hands who is quick in and out of his breaks, Harris should be a consideration for the Jets at 42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S Xavier Watts:\u00a0<\/strong>Not the same athlete Emmanwori is, Watts is still a very good safety who can go get the football on defense.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WR Jaylin Noel or Jayden Higgins: <\/strong>Two very different receivers out of the same huddle at Iowa State.\u00a0 Both could garner consideration, but Higgins being the bigger bodied guy would be a better compliment to Garrett Wilson on the outside.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Look at what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CycloneFB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CycloneFB<\/a> WR Jaylin Noel does to the corner on this out route.
