{"id":7534,"date":"2011-03-01T08:17:39","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:17:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=7534"},"modified":"2011-03-01T08:23:35","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:23:35","slug":"updated-information-on-released-players-coaches-to-face-pay-cuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2011\/03\/01\/updated-information-on-released-players-coaches-to-face-pay-cuts\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated Information On Released Players; Coaches To Face Pay Cuts?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jets save approximately $10 million in cap space-<\/strong> With the release of Kris Jenkins, Damien Woody, Vernon Gholston, and Jason Taylor the Jets will be saving approximately $10 million dollars in cap space.\u00a0 This is a considerable amount of money considering all of the pending free agents that the Jets have on their roster.\u00a0 According to some reports last night there is a chance that Gang Green will re-sign a couple of these guys to a more cap friendly deal.\u00a0 I am hoping that Damien Woody is one of those guys as second year player Vlad Ducasse is not ready to start, and Wayne Hunter is scheduled to become a free agent.<\/p>\n<p>Note: The Jets are reportedly working on a new deal with Hunter.\u00a0 In addition offensive lineman Rob Turner will receive a low restricted free agent tender that will not include draft compensation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Damien Woody offered the following comments on Twitter last night:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just informed about my release&#8230;.I want to thank the Jets and all the fans out there&#8230;it was a great ride!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Damn&#8230;.Jet fans are the best!!!
