{"id":7490,"date":"2011-02-22T08:19:37","date_gmt":"2011-02-22T12:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=7490"},"modified":"2011-02-22T08:21:47","modified_gmt":"2011-02-22T12:21:47","slug":"new-york-jets-news-and-notes-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2011\/02\/22\/new-york-jets-news-and-notes-24\/","title":{"rendered":"New York Jets News and Notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>1) Jets announce possible furlough policy for employees-<\/strong> On Monday the New York Jets confirmed a report that the team will institute a furlough policy for their business operations employees if there is a work stoppage.\u00a0 Gang Green will require their business operations employees (approximately 96 people) to take off one week unpaid per month until a new CBA is put into place.<\/p>\n<p>If an agreement is reached and the season is not shortened due to a lockout, the Jets stated that they will reimburse the furloughed employees.<\/p>\n<p>While I appreciate the fact that the Jets are trying to display financial responsibility, I am not buying this penny pinching policy .\u00a0 The Jets are a part of a billion dollar sports industry and have taken advantage of every possible marketing scheme to generate additional revenue.\u00a0 From lottery tickets, to HBO&#8217;s Hard Knocks, to &#8220;Limited Edition&#8221;
