The announcement was made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Gilbert (DT\/6-5\/285\/San Jose State\/New Orleans, LA)<\/strong> was signed to the Jets active roster on October 27, 2010, and was  inactive for three games before returning to the practice squad. He  initially signed with the Jets practice squad on September 7.\u00a0 Gilbert was drafted by the  Chicago Bears in the third round, 68th overall, of the 2009 NFL Draft,  and played in four games for the Bears, contributing on defense and  special teams. He was waived on September 4.\u00a0 A first-team All-American in 2008, Gilbert started 38 of his 48 career games at San  Jose State and is the school\u2019s all-time leader with 22.5 sacks. <\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"><strong>December 17, 2010<\/strong> &#8211; The New York Jets have signed<strong> WR Patrick Turner <\/strong>to the practice squad.<strong> <\/strong>The announcement was made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Turner (WR\/6-5\/220\/Southern California\/Nashville, TN) <\/strong>was  waived on December 15, 2010, after playing five games with the Jets,  where he saw time on special teams and recorded his first two NFL  catches.\u00a0 He originally joined the Jets on September 5, after being claimed off  waivers from the Miami Dolphins. Turner entered the NFL as a third-round  draft selection by Miami in the 2009 NFL Draft, where he saw action in  two games as a rookie.
