{"id":62114,"date":"2023-02-25T00:54:08","date_gmt":"2023-02-25T04:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=62114"},"modified":"2023-02-25T00:54:08","modified_gmt":"2023-02-25T04:54:08","slug":"nfl-draft-player-profile-washington-state-linebacker-daiyan-henley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2023\/02\/25\/nfl-draft-player-profile-washington-state-linebacker-daiyan-henley\/","title":{"rendered":"NFL Draft Player Profile: Washington State Linebacker Daiyan Henley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Come time for the NFL draft, Joe Douglas and the New York Jets are sure to be taking a long look at some of the linebacker talent on the board.\u00a0 This class boasts plenty of high-ceiling players and the Jets have a genuine lack of talent currently under contract.<\/p>\n<p>Of course Gang Green may address the position in free agency, but an injection of talented youth should be in order.\u00a0 With that in mind, today we profile Washington State linebacker Daiyan Henley.<\/p>\n<p>Height: 6&#8242; 1&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wt: 230<\/p>\n<p>Position: Linebacker<\/p>\n<p>College: Nevada (2017-2021), Washington State (2022)<\/p>\n<p>Hometown: Los Angeles, California<\/p>\n<p>Games watched: Wisconsin, Colorado State, Oregon, USC, Arizona State, Senior Bowl<\/p>\n<p>All-Star Game Appearance: Senior Bowl<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Washington State LB Daiyan Henley being a stud in coverage: Take One <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GS72ehhrTN\">pic.twitter.com\/GS72ehhrTN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ryan Roberts (@RiseNDraft) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RiseNDraft\/status\/1621153714273939456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 2, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Henley is a rare success story as a player who switched not only schools, but positions at the collegiate level and had a great deal of success.\u00a0 Not only did Henley switch positions, but sides of the ball, moving from wide receiver to linebacker where he flourished.<\/p>\n<p>Positives:<\/p>\n<p>Athleticism for days.\u00a0 As a former wideout, it should come as no surprise that Henley runs well, and in looking at the physical brand of football that he delivers, it&#8217;s not surprising to see that somebody thought he&#8217;d be well suited to make the switch from receiver to linebacker.\u00a0 When Henley finds his target, he comes downhill with violence and delivers some big hits.<\/p>\n<p>A sideline-to-sideline backer, Henley lined up both inside and out for Washington state and his rare athleticism will give his new team a variety of options on defense.<\/p>\n<p>Negatives:<\/p>\n<p>While Henley can be a force when he&#8217;s comfortable with what he&#8217;s seeing, there are times when his inexperience shows and he hesitates for a moment before moving in to action.\u00a0 This may be a result of his inexperience at the position and could be something he gets fixes over time.<\/p>\n<p>Henley will also get taken out of a play more often than you&#8217;d like, but again, a seamless transition from receiver to linebacker isn&#8217;t all that realistic so some hiccups were inevitable.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WSUCougarFB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WSUCougarFB<\/a> LB Daiyon Henley this week on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JetNation?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JetNation<\/a> live.
