The announcement was made by Jets\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt\">Poteat, 5-10, 195, was waived by the Patriots on August 29th. In his five professional seasons, the former Steelers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 third-round selection, has amassed 33 tackles and one sack in 52 career games. He has also gained 818 yards on 45 kickoff returns and 788 yards on 76 punt returns.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt\">The New York Jets also announced that they have aqcuired defensive end Bobby Hamilton from Oakland in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick. The announcement was made by Jet&#8217;s General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA\">Hamilton, 6-5, 285, is a 12-year NFL veteran who has played in 148 games, making 103 starts.
