{"id":60619,"date":"2022-09-27T16:42:17","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T20:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=60619"},"modified":"2022-09-27T16:43:00","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T20:43:00","slug":"more-trouble-in-the-trenches-as-jets-put-fant-on-ir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2022\/09\/27\/more-trouble-in-the-trenches-as-jets-put-fant-on-ir\/","title":{"rendered":"More Trouble in the Trenches as Jets put Fant on IR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NFL insider Field Yates is reporting that the Jets will in fact be placing starting left tackle George Fant on injured reserve.\u00a0 This means the team will be without his services for at least four weeks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Jets have now placed OT George Fant on injured reserve.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Field Yates (@FieldYates) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FieldYates\/status\/1574859485839036436?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 27, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Fant was pulled from last weeks game in the midst of what was his worst performance as a Jet.\u00a0 The reason?\u00a0 Fant&#8217;s balky knee that required off-season surgery was acting up so the team pulled the veteran.<\/p>\n<p>This leaves the Jets with Conor McDermott as the most likely candidate to start on Sunday which is bad news for Zach Wilson.\u00a0 The Jets did <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>add veteran tackle Mike Remmers<\/strong><\/span> yesterday but activating him for Sunday&#8217;s game is unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>The left tackle position has been a disaster for the Jets so far this season.\u00a0 The team was set to start Fant at left tackle before moving him to the right side when Duane Brown was brought in to replace the injured Mekhi Becton.\u00a0 With Becton, Brown and Fant now on IR, that&#8217;s three different players who cold have started at left tackle had injuries not piled up as such an alarming rate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NFL insider Field Yates is reporting that the Jets will in fact be placing starting left tackle George Fant on injured reserve.\u00a0 This means the team will be without his services for at least four weeks.
