Thomas was a 2017 first-round pick of the 49ers and played for Robert Saleh from 2017-20. He was with the Raiders last year.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrianCoz\/status\/1508534077644849165?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 28, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Thomas, a five-year veteran who played with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 also played under Jets head coach Robert Saleh in San Francisco as a member of the 49ers from 2017-2020.\u00a0 Selected by the 49ers in the first-round of the 2017 draft, Thomas has seen his role reduced from full-time starter in\u00a0 his first two seasons to rotational depth piece in the years that have followed.<\/p>\n<p>He registered a career high 3.5 sacks last season in 17 games (zero starts).<\/p>\n<p>Thomas adds veteran depth to a defensive line in dire need of bodies.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, the Jets agreed to terms with place kicker Eddie Pi\u00f1ero on a one-year contract.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">PK Eddy Piniero, who had a $2.4M RFA tender from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Jets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Jets<\/a>, wound up signing reworked, 1-yr deal, as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AdamSchefter<\/a> said.
