The announcement was made by Jets\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt\">Smith, a 6-2, 210-pound product of the University of Missouri, was selected in the fourth round with the 103rd overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft. Smith spent his four years at Missouri playing quarterback for the school and finished his career with 13,088 yards of total offense and holds the school records for rushing touchdowns, with 42 and passing touchdowns, with 56.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt\">Smith is the only player in NCAA history with 8,000 yards passing and 4,000 yards rushing.
