{"id":530,"date":"2006-06-14T11:26:08","date_gmt":"2006-06-14T16:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=530"},"modified":"2006-06-14T11:26:08","modified_gmt":"2006-06-14T16:26:08","slug":"jets-signwaive-rookie-free-agents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2006\/06\/14\/jets-signwaive-rookie-free-agents\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Sign\\Waive Rookie Free Agents"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"box-text\">\n<p style=\"line-height: 14.4pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt\">The New York Jets today signed rookie free agents WR Phil Silva and RB Nick Hartigan.\u00c2\u00a0 The team also waived rookie RB DonTrell Moore.\u00c2\u00a0 The announcements were made by Jets\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt\">Silva, 6-3, 220 pounds, was a four-year letterman for the Rowan University Profs, one of the top NCAA Division III programs in the nation.\u00c2\u00a0 As a senior he was named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year after recording 46 receptions for 587 yards and seven touchdowns.\u00c2\u00a0 Silva, a product of Vineland, NJ, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and moved with his family to the United States at the age of ten.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt\">Hartigan, 6-2, 220 pounds, was the leading rusher in 2005 on the Division I-AA\u00c2\u00a0level and led Brown to the Ivy League title. He was also a Rhodes Scholar finalist.\u00c2\u00a0 Though he came up just short of earning a Rhodes Scholarship, he led Brown to its first outright\u00c2\u00a0Ivy League title in a 52-21 rout of Columbia by rushing for\u00c2\u00a0229 yards and three touchdowns in the Ivy League Championship game.\u00c2\u00a0Hartigan holds Ivy League records for career touchdowns (54), career rushing touchdowns (52), and career points (324). He finished his Brown career as the school&#8217;s all-time\u00c2\u00a0rushing leader with 4,492 yards.\u00c2\u00a0 A native of Fairfax Station, VA, Hartigan is graduate of W.T.
