The Jets had placed both <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2020\/07\/31\/flacco-other-moves\/\">Williamson and Griffin on the PUP<\/a><\/strong> list on July 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Williamson, who was once thought as expendable, emerged as a key piece on defense when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2020\/08\/01\/espn-cj-mosley-to-opt-out-of-season\/\">CJ Mosley opted out of the 2020 season<\/a><\/strong> due to Covid.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2019\/11\/24\/contract-extension-for-ny-jets-tight-end-ryan-griffin\/\">Ryan Griffin<\/a><\/strong> emerged last year and developed strong chemistry with Sam Darnold with the absence of Chris Herndon.
