Yes, in a perfect world, Jets GM Joe Douglas would come out of this off-season with every meaningful hole on his roster filled with a young proven starter or highly-rated draft pick for the Jets moving forward.\u00a0 However, that’s just no a realistic possibility at this point, so there are some spots that should be filled with proven vets on short-term deals who can be replaced in a year or two.\u00a0 Some possibilites?<\/p>\n
LT Jason Peters:\u00a0<\/strong>Even at 38-years-old, Peters is one of the top pass protecters in the NFL.\u00a0 The Jets could always look to add the big left tackle to protect Sam Darnold’s blind side and then use pick no. 11 on his eventual replacement who could then play right tackle or a guard spot for a year while learning the ropes from Peters.<\/p>\n CB Prince Amukamara:\u00a0<\/strong>According to Connor Hughes of the Athletic, the Jets are showing some interest in Amukamara, who is past his prime, but could still be a CB2 for a season or two.\u00a0 If the Jets were to add a big name such as Byron Jones to pair with Amuakamara, it would be a much improved secondary with Bless Austin providing quality depth.<\/p>\n
