The 0-3 New York Jets are preparing for a short trip down I-95 to take on Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. Gang Green will be looking to avoid an 0-4 start, but doing so is all but impossible. If they do hope to have any chance at all, here are a few battles the Jets will have to win.<\/p>\n
Ryan Kalil vs Fletcher Cox: <\/strong>Barring a miraculous upgrade in play from Ryan Kalil, Fletcher Cox could be in for a big day. One of the best interior linemen in the NFL, if you’re the Eagles, you should be putting together a game plan to get Cox matched up one-on-one with Kalil as often as possible. This is the one matchup that could make life most difficulty on Luke Falk.<\/p>\n S Jamal Adams vs TE Zach Ertz: <\/strong>Ertz is one of the best in the business while Adams has graded out as one of the NFL’s top cover safeties according to pro football focus. The Jets defense is better than it gets credit for but still has their share of holes. If Adams and company don’t do their part against Ertz, things could get ugly in a hurry.<\/p>\n LT Kelvin Beachum vs Derek Barnett: <\/strong>Barnett is a young payer who looks to be coming in to his own and may challenge Beachum on the edge. Keeping Luke Falk upright has to be a priority.<\/p>\n RT Chuma Edoga vs DE\/OLB Brandon Graham: <\/strong>Edoga is expected to make his NFL debut against a savvy veteran in Graham. If Adam Gase doesn’t use his tight ends to give Edoga a bit of help and Beachum falters on the other side, we might see David Fales make his Jets debut.<\/p>\n WR Robby Anderson vs Sidney Jones: <\/strong>The Eagles will be without their top two cornerbacks due to injury and Jones is playing with a balky hamstring.
