{"id":4563,"date":"2010-07-29T17:57:40","date_gmt":"2010-07-29T17:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=4563"},"modified":"2010-08-01T22:38:17","modified_gmt":"2010-08-01T22:38:17","slug":"cimini-ny-jets-set-to-sign-wr-coles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2010\/07\/29\/cimini-ny-jets-set-to-sign-wr-coles\/","title":{"rendered":"Cimini: NY Jets Set To Sign WR Coles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/examiner\/x-779-New-York-Jets-Examiner~y2010m7d29-Report-NY-Jets-set-to-sign-WR-Coles?cid=publish_twitter:779\" target=\"_blank\">By Tyson Rauch<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rich Cimini of ESPN New York <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/new-york\/nfl\/news\/story?id=5420050\" target=\"_blank\">is reporting<\/a> that the New York Jets are set to workout wide receiver Laveranues  Coles on Friday, with the intention of signing him.\u00a0 This would be  Coles&#8217; third stint with Gang Green as he played for the Jets from  2000-2002 and from 2005-2008.\u00a0 On the surface this move seems somewhat  surprising as the Jets appear to be loaded at the wide receiver  position, but Coles would provide some insurance while Santonio Holmes  serves his 4-game suspension.\u00a0 In addition Laveranues would provide  quarterback Mark Sanchez will another veteran receiving option, which is  never a bad thing in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>There are some questions if the  Jets go ahead and bring back Coles.\u00a0 Who will be released from the  roster in order to get LC in the fold as the Jets are already at the 80  man capacity? Danny Woodhead? And will Laveranues be willing to accept  the backup role once Santonio comes back from his suspension?
