{"id":45626,"date":"2019-08-15T23:03:59","date_gmt":"2019-08-16T03:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=45626"},"modified":"2019-08-16T08:25:13","modified_gmt":"2019-08-16T12:25:13","slug":"jets-top-falcons-in-second-preseason-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2019\/08\/15\/jets-top-falcons-in-second-preseason-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets top Falcons in Second Preseason Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Jets topped the Atlanta Falcons 22-10 in what was a largely uneventful contest once the first offense took a seat for the day.&nbsp; Sam Darnold orchestrated an 8 play 66 yards scoring drive to get things started that was capped with a Ty Montgomery 1 yard score.&nbsp; Darnold looked sharp overall and finished 5-7 for 46 yards.<\/p>\n<p>Other significant notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ILB Avery Williamson left the game with a knee injury and did not return.&nbsp; No word as of yet as to how serious the injury might be.&nbsp; After the game, head coach Adam Gase told the media that Brandon Shell and Jamey Mosley also have knee injuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Shell, Williamson and Mosley all have knee injuries, Adam Gase said, and they\u2019re being evaluated <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Jets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Jets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Connor_J_Hughes\/status\/1162196511679229952?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 16, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Quinnen Williams impressed in his second game as a pro as he steamrolled an interior O-lineman and came up just short of sacking Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Quinnen Williams is a BEAST.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/35saBvREd3\">pic.twitter.com\/35saBvREd3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jets Videos (@snyjets) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/snyjets\/status\/1162153706143567872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 16, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>The Jets kicking woes continue as Taylor Bertolet hit a 49-yard field goal, but also missed two extra points.&nbsp; Have to wonder why the Jets are taking such a lackadaisical approach to the position.&nbsp; Perhaps they already know they&#8217;ll be adding a player such as Dan Bailey once he likely shakes loose.<\/li>\n<li>Bronson Kaufusi has to be a heavy favorite to make the roster at this point as the Jets appear posed to be extremely deep up front.<\/li>\n<li>Chuma Edoga got some run with the starters after impressing in his debut last week.&nbsp; Bad news for Brandon Shell at this point.<\/li>\n<li>Deontay Burnett had a drop early on but scored a touchdown late.&nbsp; He should be WR4 at this point.<\/li>\n<li>Luke Falk looked better than Davis Webb once again.&nbsp; If the Jets carry three QB&#8217;s, have to believe it&#8217;ll be Falk.<\/li>\n<li>Several starters came away with sacks in Jamal Adams, Avery Williamson and Brandon Copeland while Kaufusi and Anthony Wint chipped in one each for the reserves.<\/li>\n<li>We liked what we saw from undrafted free agent D-lineman Kyle Phillips, but making this roster on the D-line could be a tall order.<\/li>\n<li>As Rich Cimini of ESPN New York mentioned, the fact that Brandon Copeland saw so many reps late in the game comes as quite a surprise.&nbsp; Those reps are usually reserved for guys with little chance of making the roster or rookies cutting their teeth.&nbsp; Keep a close eye.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Brandon Copeland in the game.
