\u00a0Because there are a ton of issues facing this team entering the final half of\u00a0the season:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; They have a below average record, an inability to win on the road and difficulty stringing\u00a0wins together.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A coaching staff that seemed to give up on the CHI game before it started with its lack of\u00a0offensive creativity. \u00a0And post game comments that basically wanted the team to be awarded\u00a0&#8220;participation trophies&#8221; because they fought hard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A GM who has missed on a ton of mid-round picks which has cost the roster depth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Leonard Williams is due for a contract extension but his stats have not lived up to his\u00a0draft status.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Trumaine Johnson was given a Revis type of contract and up to this point has not lived up\u00a0to it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Still no impact OLB pass rusher.<\/p>\n<h2>There are good things to be hopeful about:<\/h2>\n<p>&#8211; Sam Darnold looks to be the franchise QB. \u00a0Even in the games he struggles he never looks overwhelmed\u00a0or frantic. \u00a0His strengths (poise, mobility, accuracy &amp; progressions) coming out of school have been evident\u00a0and he&#8217;s improved his ball security in the pocket. \u00a0Getting players healthy at the skill positions will\u00a0make his job easier.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The OLine has been decent. \u00a0Even though it needs to get younger on the left side and Spencer Long needs\u00a0to get healthy and his snaps under control. \u00a0They&#8217;ve had some impressive efforts and Darnold hasn&#8217;t been\u00a0under siege.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Chris Herndon looks to have a big future as a weapon at TE.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Robby Anderson has consistently been running past some of the best CB&#8217;s (Jalen Ramsey, Chris Harris &amp;\u00a0Xavier Rhodes) in the league. \u00a0The timing between him and Darnold has to be improved though because\u00a0they&#8217;ve missed on 3-4 long TD&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The front office has found some very good bargains on defense in Henry Anderson, Brandon Copeland and\u00a0Avery Williamson.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Darron Lee and Darryl Roberts have improved tremendously.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Jamal Adams has taken a big step in showing why he was drafted #6.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The special teams have finally been stabilized with Jason Myers, Lachlan Edwards and Andre Roberts .<\/p>\n<p>So there are some positives and negatives, but with eight games left what criteria will Chris Johnson\u00a0use to determine if Maccagnan and Bowles are the right people to lead the team forward in a crucial\u00a0off-season?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we hit the midpoint of the season the question that sticks in my mind is, What Will Chris\u00a0Johnson Do?
