{"id":4141,"date":"2010-04-13T10:37:30","date_gmt":"2010-04-13T14:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=4141"},"modified":"2010-04-13T10:37:30","modified_gmt":"2010-04-13T14:37:30","slug":"santonio-holmes-suspended-4-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2010\/04\/13\/santonio-holmes-suspended-4-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Santonio Holmes Suspended 4 Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NFL has suspended newly acquired New york Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes for four games.\u00a0 The Jets were aware that the suspension was coming and that obviously factored into the price they paid (5th round draft pick).\u00a0 Holmes, who had 79 catches and 1,248 receiving yards last season has had a lot of negative publicity recently.\u00a0 Rich Cimini recapped a lot of it in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/sports\/football\/jets\/2010\/04\/12\/2010-04-12_nfl_suspends_new_jets_wide_receiver_santonio_holmes_for_first_four_games_of_seas.html\" target=\"_blank\">Daily News today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Holmes, 26, was cited for marijuana possession in 2008, resulting in a  one-game paid suspension by the Steelers. That was strike one,  according to the league policy. To land the suspension, he either tested  positive or missed a drug test.<\/p>\n<p>Holmes didn&#8217;t say what led to the suspension. He said he&#8217;s being  &#8220;accountable for what happened and I&#8217;m ready to move forward.&#8221; But he  didn&#8217;t sound accountable when he said, &#8220;Sometimes you have no control  over things that happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The former first-round pick also refused to take responsibility for  two recent controversial remarks on his <a title=\"Twitter  Inc.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/topics\/Twitter+Inc.\">Twitter<\/a> page.
