General Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Players in full pads<\/p>\n

– Practice ran 2 hours 40 minutes<\/p>\n

– Jordan Leggett, Shaneil Jenkins (DL) and Quincy Enunwa sat out. \u00a0While Marcus Maye\u00a0and Terrelle Pryor finally participated in team periods<\/p>\n

– During assorted team periods extra time was added so Sam Darnold could get extra\u00a0reps<\/p>\n

– Steve McLendon called the defense together early on urged them to step up their\u00a0game. \u00a0It worked because it was definitely a defense dominated practice. \u00a0Particularly\u00a0impressive was the communication among the defense as they relayed calls to one\u00a0another<\/p>\n

– The amount of penalties finally went down<\/p>\n

Player Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Taylor Bertolet got all the FG reps during the special teams period and was accurate\u00a0up to 57 yards<\/p>\n

– Good day for the ILB’s Darron Lee and Avery Williamson. \u00a0As they stuffed the run, got\u00a0a couple of TFL’s and Williamson showed good coverage speed. \u00a0He was able to stay with Isaiah\u00a0Crowell 15-20 yards down the field to force an incompletion during a team period<\/p>\n

– Leonard Williams was dominant again and Nathan Shepherd continued his strong play. \u00a0It will\u00a0be interesting to see if Shepherd can be the running mate Williams needs<\/p>\n

– Henry Anderson flashed again with TFL’s and the ability to collapse the pocket<\/p>\n

– Obum Gwachum showed up again in run support and edge pressure. \u00a0It will be interesting to\u00a0see if he can do this in a real game<\/p>\n

– Derrick Jones almost had another INT this time off of Sam Darnold. \u00a0He juggled it near the\u00a0sideline and was ruled out of bounds. \u00a0Since he was a WR his hands\/ball skills are terrific\u00a0it appears his CB skills are now catching up because he’s had a good start to camp<\/p>\n

– Other DB’s with INT’s were Terrence Brooks (S) off of Josh McCown and Mo Claiborne off of\u00a0Sam Darnold as the ball was tipped at the line<\/p>\n

QB<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nothing special for either Josh McCown or Teddy Bridgewater<\/p>\n

Darnold Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Completions were tough to come by as the timing with the receivers seemed off<\/p>\n

– His footwork and ball handling in the pocket were good<\/p>\n

– As he was trying to draw the defense offsides with his cadence he actually caused\u00a0the OLine to false start twice<\/p>\n

– His arm strength & accuracy were on display during a team period when he threw a\u00a020+ yard seam pattern to Chad Hansen in traffic. \u00a0And a 15+ yard out to Chris\u00a0Herndon where only he could catch it<\/p>\n

Concerns<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Let’s see Darnold and the offense bounce back<\/p>\n
