{"id":4008,"date":"2010-03-14T13:50:14","date_gmt":"2010-03-14T17:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=4008"},"modified":"2019-11-27T06:50:03","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T10:50:03","slug":"rex-ryan-tries-to-trim-the-bottom-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2010\/03\/14\/rex-ryan-tries-to-trim-the-bottom-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Rex Ryan Tries To Trim The Bottom Line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/sports\/football\/jets\/2010\/03\/13\/2010-03-13_band_on_the_tum_jets_coach_has_surgery_to_trim_lbs.html?r=sports%2Ffootball%2Fjets&amp;utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+nydnrss%2Fsports%2Ffootball%2Fjets+%28Sports%2FFootball%2FJets%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rich Cimini of the NY Daily News<\/a> has a story about Rex Ryan undergoing a lap band procedure at NYU Medical Center.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In an effort to fight his obesity, Ryan underwent weight-loss surgery  Saturday at <a title=\"NYU Medical Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/topics\/NYU+Medical+Center\">NYU Medical  Center<\/a>, the Daily News has learned.<\/p>\n<p>A scheduled lap-band  procedure was performed on Ryan, team spokesman <a title=\"Bruce Speight\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/topics\/Bruce+Speight\">Bruce Speight<\/a> said Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan, 47, who weighed 340 pounds at the  start of last season, was released after the morning surgery and  returned to his home in <a title=\"New Jersey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/topics\/New+Jersey\">New Jersey<\/a>,  Speight said.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan, who also had a hernia repaired while in the  hospital, was unavailable for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The surgery entails placing  an adjustable gastric band around the upper part of the stomach. It  makes the stomach smaller so it holds less food.
