Tip of the cap to Todd Bowles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a few notes, links, thought and quotes from the world of Gang Green.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If Todd Bowles&#8217; harshest critics are going to show even a sliver of objectivity and fairness, you have to praise the effort this team showed on Sunday after falling behind 14-0 in the blink of en eye.\u00a0 When that happened last season, the players mailed it in the rest of the way.\u00a0 This time, they stuck to the game plan and came away with a win.\u00a0 Games like this are the reason Bowles will be back next season.<\/li>\n<li>You can&#8217;t say enough good things about wide receivers Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse who became the first pair of Jets receivers with back-to-back 100-yard receiving days since 1967.\u00a0 Chad Hansen also impressed in\u00a0 limited action.\u00a0 This is one position group that shouldn&#8217;t be a concern in the draft.<\/li>\n<li>One would have to think ArDarius Stewart was drafted to be more than a receiver who runs a few end arounds every week.\u00a0 For some reason, John Morton seems to feel differently at the moment as he&#8217;s become a <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2017\/12\/04\/despite-offensive-explosion-for-gang-green-questions-still-linger\/\"><strong>gadget guy.<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s hard to believe the Jets are having a repeat performance from Mo Wilkerson who was benched this Sunday for the same reason he was disciplined last year as he&#8217;s made a habit of <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2017\/12\/03\/team-meeting-mo-says-no-while-lee-is-tardy-for-practice\/\"><strong>showing up late for practice<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Wilkerson has had three or four very good games this season, but other than that he&#8217;s been largely invisible.\u00a0 We <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.jetnation.com\/topic\/134171-time-to-bench-mo-for-the-season\/\"><strong>suggested earlier this season<\/strong><\/a> he be benched to avoid an injury that would guarantee his $17 million salary next season, but the Jets may continue to tempt fate by sending him out there to risk getting stuck with him again in 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_31712\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31712\" class=\"wp-image-31712\" src=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson-600x448.jpg 600w, https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Muhammad-Wilkerson.jpg 1205w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-31712\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Have the Jets finally soured on Muhammad Wilkerson&#8217;s lack of production and effort?<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Film review on NFL.com isn&#8217;t available as of yet, but it&#8217;s going to be interesting to see how often Brandon Shell squared off against Justin Houston who was held without a sack on over 30 pass plays on Sunday.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, Houston didn&#8217;t register a single tackle on 80 total snaps.<\/li>\n<li>Rough debut for cornerback Rashard Robinson.\u00a0 He was traded for almost a month ago and didn&#8217;t see a single rep on defense until this week.\u00a0 He appeared to be doing just fine until he got roasted for a TD by Tyreek Hill.\u00a0 Not ideal, but being beat deep by the fastest player in the NFL is gonna&#8217; happen to the best of them.<\/li>\n<li>At 5-7 with another win likely on the horizon, the Jets figure to be picking in the middle of round one, so the tank never happened, but that doesn&#8217;t mean a franchise quarterback can&#8217;t.\u00a0 There will be options via free agency (Kirk Cousins) trade (Alex Smith) and one of the many quarterbacks coming out in the draft could lead to a trade up.\u00a0 All is not lost Jets fans.\u00a0 Good nucleus, $80+ million in cap space and a new QB on the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just a few notes, links, thought and quotes from the world of Gang Green.
