What\u00a0are cash lineups?\u00a0\u00a0Cash lineup\u00a0games are tournaments\u00a0in\u00a0which half of the players win\u00a0and the\u00a0other\u00a0half lose.\u00a0 In contrast,\u00a0Guaranteed Prize Pools\u00a0(GPPs) generate winnings for only 10\u00a0to\u00a020% of the players.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

High Floor and High Ceiling<\/b>\u00a0Contests<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

When playing\u00a0cash\u00a0games,\u00a0you should try\u00a0to\u00a0find players with\u00a0\u201chigh floors.\u201d\u00a0 A high floor player is one who consistently generates a high number of points.\u00a0 Remember,\u00a0you only need to beat half\u00a0of\u00a0the field.\u00a0 Taking chances on players\u00a0who do not consistently gain points\u00a0is not a wise decision.\u00a0 If you can get a respectable return from all or most of your players in the long run,\u00a0you should\u00a0be able to\u00a0beat\u00a0half of\u00a0the field.<\/p>\n

Players with high floors are usually predictable or consistent, but\u00a0they may not be a high ceiling player.\u00a0 A high ceiling player\u00a0is one who is not consistent\u00a0e.g.<\/i>\u00a0they can produce between 5 and 30 points.\u00a0 Because of their inconsistent play, you should not\u00a0use them in a\u00a0cash game.\u00a0\u00a0An example of a great cash game play\u00a0during\u00a0the\u00a0initial\u00a0weeks of 2016,\u00a0was Deangelo Williams.\u00a0At the time,\u00a0Bell was\u00a0out on suspension.\u00a0 Williams\u00a0was as consistent as\u00a0you could hope for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is so much DFS advice available today,\u00a0and\u00a0the competition is much stronger then it was when I started\u00a0playing Daily\u00a0Fantasy\u00a0in 2014.\u00a0\u00a0I suggest separating yourself from everyone else, and searching for\u00a0one or two high\u00a0risk, high\u00a0reward players\u00a0to put in your line-up.\u00a0\u00a0This will separate you from the regular DFS crowd.\u00a0 Search for\u00a0some undervalued players that you can roster.\u00a0 If you do this, you\u00a0can\u00a0obtain the\u00a0freedom to\u00a0afford\u00a0high priced safe plays.\u00a0\u00a0A high ceiling player is one that has the ability to give you the most points, but\u00a0he\u00a0is not consistent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Injuries are key when targeting high-risk-reward players.\u00a0 If a starting running back is hurt for a game,\u00a0and his back-up is not as talented,\u00a0but you can forecast that he will receive the majority of the workload, he might\u00a0be a great pick.\u00a0 I look\u00a0at the Vegas lines and if a\u00a0player is\u00a0in a high scoring game and his team is favored,\u00a0then\u00a0this could be the way to go.\u00a0\u00a0Every week there are injuries,\u00a0so monitor them\u00a0closely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In cash games,\u00a0we are told that it is best\u00a0to play all high floor players.\u00a0 I\u00a0choose not to;\u00a0I try\u00a0to\u00a0find one or two high ceiling plays.\u00a0\u00a0No matter how you opt to build your team,\u00a0make sure the majority of your players are consistent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Value Approach<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Let\u2019s\u00a0take\u00a0a look at\u00a0Fan Duel\u2019s point system.\u00a0 I am looking for around 2x value for each of my players.\u00a0 If a player costs $4,000.00,\u00a0I am expecting\u00a0eight\u00a0Fan Duel points from that player.\u00a0\u00a0I am trying to hit a target score\u00a0of 130.\u00a0 This is the score it takes to\u00a0win.\u00a0 On Fan Duel\u00a0you\u00a0used to\u00a0need a\u00a0score of\u00a0120\u00a0to win,\u00a0but I have seen this number move closer to 130.\u00a0\u00a0Therefore,\u00a0I\u00a0like to\u00a0take one or two high ceiling players;\u00a0it\u2019s because\u00a0I want to\u00a0get closer to\u00a0a\u00a03x\u00a0value.\u00a0 You may not be able to do this every\u00a0week, but\u00a0if you\u00a0do your\u00a0research\u00a0you may\u00a0be able to\u00a0find some players that fit into your\u00a0cash lineup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spending Up\u00a0<\/b>on<\/b>\u00a0a<\/b>\u00a0P<\/b>osition<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u00a0tend to\u00a0spend most of my salary\u00a0cap\u00a0on a QB.\u00a0\u00a0Rodgers, Luck,\u00a0and\u00a0Brees are all elite plays.\u00a0 They have\u00a0a\u00a0high floor\/high ceiling combination.\u00a0\u00a0Compared to\u00a0a\u00a0RB,\u00a0WR,\u00a0or TE,\u00a0value is not easy to find in a QB.\u00a0\u00a0So,\u00a0I pay up and move on.\u00a0 When looking for a RB\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0all about touches and red zone\u00a0usage.\u00a0\u00a0You\u00a0want as many carries or receptions as\u00a0you can get with a RB, as this will add up\u00a0points.\u00a0\u00a0You\u00a0want to find RB\u2019s who will be\u00a0great\u00a0goal line guys.\u00a0\u00a0A touchdown is golden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My thought process is basically the same when looking for a WR and TE.\u00a0 Always look at match-ups and if you can find weakness in the secondary, this is the player you want to roster. There\u00a0are some good sites for you to refer to:\u00a0www.rotowire.com<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0www.rotogrinders.com<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0These\u00a0are my\u00a0two\u00a0favorites.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When picking kickers, pick\u00a0the\u00a0cheapest option and look for\u00a0an\u00a0indoor stadium so weather is not a factor.\u00a0\u00a0I\u00a0use Vegas lines to see the huge favorites,\u00a0and\u00a0I\u00a0usually pick a home team for my defense. By not investing a lot of salary in Kicker and Defense,\u00a0you can spend up on your other players.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Try not to pair a QB with a pass catcher,\u00a0because if your QB had a bad day,\u00a0then your\u00a0WR and TE\u00a0may\u00a0also have a bad day.\u00a0\u00a0I try not to create more than one cash lineup.\u00a0\u00a0 I suggest you create an \u201coptimal\u201d lineup.\u00a0 Look for a safe floor and some upside.\u00a0 Make sure to check the weather, as\u00a0you\u00a0do not want to roster players in wind and rain.\u00a0 Take your time creating a lineup,\u00a0and as it gets close\u00a0to game time\u00a0monitor the injuries, because you may find a diamond in the ruff\u00a0–\u00a0right before kickoff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
