The Jets won’t see the field today but here are some thoughts on what has transpired so far. Be sure to read all of our NY Jets Training Camp Reports<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Notes from JetNation User KRL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– I believe Lucky Whitehead is leading at the return position. \u00a0But can he be\u00a0effective at the WR position? \u00a0Because I don’t think this team can have too many “one trick ponies”. \u00a0He’s getting reps there let’s see what he does in\u00a0games.<\/p>\n

– Team speed on defense is finally no longer a problem. \u00a0We’ll see if they\u00a0can perform effectively or if they’ll just make high speed mistakes.<\/p>\n

– Has Demario Davis finally found a position where he can be effective? \u00a0So far\u00a0being the “enforcer” ILB seems to fit him. \u00a0He can concentrate on going forward\u00a0and being physical and not being in space.<\/p>\n

– Did the type of demanding coaches Bowles brought in contribute to the veteran\u00a0purge? \u00a0Because the way John Morton & Dennard Wilson can rip into players doesn’t\u00a0go over well with a 10 year vet.<\/p>\n

– Coming off a 5-11 season and the “big name” purge has led to low expectations.\u00a0But people should keep in mind that name recognition and talent are not synonymous.\u00a0Perfect example is Revis and Morris Claiborne, there’s no doubt who has the bigger\u00a0name and better career. \u00a0But there is also no doubt who is the more talented player\u00a0right now.<\/p>\n

– I don’t want him to start, but as a team leader and someone who likes to\u00a0encourage and unite Josh McCown has been excellent. \u00a0Always upbeat and looking\u00a0to raise the level of practice for both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
