The New York Jets did what every Jets fan hoped they could do.\u00a0 They closed out “Giants Stadium” in style.\u00a0 The Cincinnati Bengals put together a game plan that was extremely vanilla (simple).\u00a0 They rested some players (Cedric Benson) but played most of the starters until the 1st series of the 2nd half.<\/p>\n

The results for the Jets were better than anyone could have hoped for, a 37-0 victory.\u00a0 The defense pitched a shutout.\u00a0 Mark Sanchez wasn’t asked to do much but he played mistake free football.\u00a0 Brad Smith was unreal out of the “Tiger Cat” and the running game remains dominant with 257 yards rushing.<\/p>\n

What a fun night. It was a great atmosphere by the fans who showed up late in the cold for what was the most important regular season game the team has played since 2002. The Jets certainly appreciated the effort as they really played it up with the remaining fans after the game was over. Even though the Jets were not a very good home team this year this is the first team since 2002 that really seems to have won over the crowd and the fans really seem to identify with the coach and many of these players.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
