New Jets news is pretty rare right now, just a lot of speculation. That will soon change because of some important upcoming dates. The waiver system began on February 6th. Here are some other important dates to remember.<\/p>\n

February 14<\/strong> — Beginning at 12 noon, New York time, NFL clubs may begin to sign players whose 2016 CFL contracts have expired. Players under contract to a CFL club for the 2017 season or who have an option for the 2017 season are not eligible to be signed.<\/p>\n

February 15<\/strong> — First day for clubs to designate Franchise or Transition Players<\/p>\n

February 28-March 6<\/strong> — NFL Scouting Combine<\/a>, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.<\/p>\n

March 1<\/strong> — Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, deadline for clubs to designate Franchise or Transition Players.<\/p>\n

March 9<\/strong> — All 2016 player contracts will expire at 4:00 p.m., New York time.<\/p>\n

March 9<\/strong> — The 2017 league year and free agency period begin at 4:00 p.m., New York time.<\/p>\n

March 26-29<\/strong> — Annual League Meeting, Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n

April 17<\/strong> — Clubs with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs.<\/p>\n

April 21<\/strong> — Deadline for Restricted Free Agents to sign offer sheets.<\/p>\n

April 27-29<\/strong> — 2017 NFL Draft<\/a>, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

May 5-8<\/strong> — Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
