{"id":34597,"date":"2016-11-15T19:08:06","date_gmt":"2016-11-15T23:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=34597"},"modified":"2016-11-15T19:08:06","modified_gmt":"2016-11-15T23:08:06","slug":"jets-pepper-johnson-gets-salty-d-line-coach-snubs-jets-scribes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2016\/11\/15\/jets-pepper-johnson-gets-salty-d-line-coach-snubs-jets-scribes\/","title":{"rendered":"Pepper gets Salty; D-Line Coach Snubs Jets Scribes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Glenn Naugthon<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As if the Jets&#8217; 3-7 start wasn&#8217;t frustrating enough for Jets fans who recently learned that head coach Todd Bowles has been taking a Rex Ryan-like approach with players who routinely skip team meetings and practices, there was yet another gem out of Florham Park today.<\/p>\n<p>Pepper Johnson, the team&#8217;s defensive line coach, was set to meet with beat reporters today for what most reasonably expected to be a question and answer session about his talented, yet under-performing linemen. \u00a0So much for that.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by several reporters, including Kimberly Martin of Newsday, Johnson followed quarterbacks coach Kevin Patullo by saying he would only take questions about himself.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Pepper Johnson basically said: I&#39;m only taking questions about Pepper Johnson, not the D-line. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/jets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#jets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Kimberley A.
