{"id":33395,"date":"2016-09-02T17:53:39","date_gmt":"2016-09-02T21:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=33395"},"modified":"2016-09-02T17:53:39","modified_gmt":"2016-09-02T21:53:39","slug":"amaro-confident-hell-be-one-of-final-53","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2016\/09\/02\/amaro-confident-hell-be-one-of-final-53\/","title":{"rendered":"Amaro Confident He&#8217;ll be one of Final 53"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Glenn Naughton<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was easily the strangest\u00a0observation I made during\u00a0last night&#8217;s torturous 14-6 Jets loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in their final preseason game. \u00a0 The only football game I&#8217;ve ever attended that was so horrendous, it had me heading for the exits early in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>At some point, late in the third quarter, after watching yet another Christian Hackenberg pass land several feet in front of his targeted receiver, I glanced at the Jets sideline and said to the person sitting next to me, &#8220;Is it just me, or does Jace Amaro look like he&#8217;s having the time of his life after that fumble earlier?&#8221; \u00a0as a smiling, laughing Amaro exchanged pleasantries with his teammates.<\/p>\n<p>It seemed as if Amaro wasn&#8217;t bothered by his sub-par play this preseason just a short while after he coughed up a fumble that was picked up by the Eagles, or he didn&#8217;t realize he that even as a former second-round pick, he&#8217;s planted firmly on the roster bubble.<\/p>\n<p>There was only one of two possibilities. \u00a0Amaro didn&#8217;t care, or he didn&#8217;t realize his play could soon have him looking for work elsewhere in the very near future.<\/p>\n<p>Amaro seemed exceedingly confident and his reported quotes by Kimberly Martin of Newsday indicate just that.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;I\u2019ve done what they\u2019ve asked me to do in the passing gm&#8230; I\u2019ve never really been concerned re: making the roster.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DYo4kAUk2z\">https:\/\/t.co\/DYo4kAUk2z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Kimberley A.
