General Notes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Practice was held in the fieldhouse and players were in full pads.<\/p>\n

– Practice ran 2.5 hours.<\/p>\n

– Brant Boyer (STC) was back to using trash cans as he went over wedge blocking\u00a0assignments with the cans representing defenders.<\/p>\n

– Revis was starting to test his wrist as he did some individual DB drills.<\/p>\n

– The defense worked on causing fumbles today by setting up four stations where\u00a0they worked on different situations. \u00a0One was strip sacks and another was two\u00a0men tackling the ball carrier where one would secure and the other would strip\u00a0the ball.<\/p>\n

– The defense won the day today. \u00a0They worked on installing their sub-packages\u00a0and bringing blitz pressure out of them.<\/p>\n

Players Who Continue To “Stack” Practices<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Jordan Jenkins (OLB) had a sack and two tackles for loss. \u00a0At this stage he seems\u00a0to play “older” than his age let’s see if it continues.<\/p>\n

– Jalin Marshall (WR) is getting increased reps with the #1’s. \u00a0He had a TD in the\u00a0red zone portion of practice.<\/p>\n

– Juston Burris (CB) continues to show good coverage skills and had multiple pass\u00a0breakups. \u00a0And with the pads on he also showed good run support.<\/p>\n

Player Notes<\/strong><\/h2>\n

– Doug Middleton (S) showed excellent range by getting an INT of Bryce Petty. \u00a0From\u00a0media reports it seemed like he stood out on Saturday so he continued his good play\u00a0today.<\/p>\n

– Darron Lee (LB) and Bruce Carter (LB) really stood out today as they displayed their\u00a0speed. \u00a0In 1 on 1 coverage drills against RB’s they were fast enough to undercut the routes and knock down passes. \u00a0And in 11 on 11’s Lee shined bringing blitz pressure\u00a0from the middle by getting a sack.<\/p>\n

– The rust continues to fall off of Ryan Clady. \u00a0He’s had impressive battles against\u00a0Lorenzo Mauldin (winning some, losing some). \u00a0And today in 11 on 11’s he was able to\u00a0engage multiple defenders when the defense blitzed.<\/p>\n

– Mauldin is bringing pressure off the edge but he’s not being a “one trick pony”.\u00a0He’s not just trying to use his speed and run around the OT, he’s stringing together\u00a0moves. \u00a0Also, he’s being attentive to setting the edge in the run game.<\/p>\n

– With the pads on Calvin Pryor had a good day. \u00a0He had a TFL on a run blitz and a sack.<\/p>\n

– Jace Amaro showed up today in blocking and pass catching. \u00a0He had a nice seal block that\u00a0allowed Powell to get a 20+ yard run. \u00a0In 11 on 11’s he made an excellent diving catch\u00a0of a throw by Petty and stretched the seam by catching a 15+ yarder from Fitzpatrick(?)<\/p>\n

– Buster Skrine had an INT and sack of Fitzpatrick during 11 on 11’s.<\/p>\n

QB’s<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nothing really stood out about the QB’s today other than a few highlight plays:<\/p>\n

– Fitzpatrick hitting Decker on a 35+ yard throw over Milliner<\/p>\n

– Hackenberg hitting Kyle Williams on a 40+ yard TD<\/p>\n
