{"id":32048,"date":"2016-03-17T21:10:09","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T01:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=32048"},"modified":"2022-09-15T05:54:13","modified_gmt":"2022-09-15T09:54:13","slug":"jets-host-trio-of-free-agents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2016\/03\/17\/jets-host-trio-of-free-agents\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Host Trio of Free Agents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Glenn Naughton<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With plenty of holes to fill, the New York Jets hosted several options today.<\/p>\n<p>With the likely departure of outside linebacker Calvin Pace, the Jets are in need of an edge-setting presence in his absence which is why they had Ravens linebacker Courtney Upshaw in for a face to face.<\/p>\n<p>Upshaw, who was chosen in the second round (35th overall) in the 2012 draft, has been somewhat of a disappointment through his first four pro seasons. \u00a0Despite appearing in 64 career games, 51 of them starts, Upshaw has managed just 110 tackles and 5 sacks. \u00a0Even still, he&#8217;s held up well in run support and is one of the top remaining linebackers on the market and will likely come cheap.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Courtney Upshaw is visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Jets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Jets<\/a> today. Here&#39;s some details on him: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BTG08F4Ex8\">https:\/\/t.co\/BTG08F4Ex8<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jeQujv2tOs\">pic.twitter.com\/jeQujv2tOs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Connor_J_Hughes\/status\/710481169025003520?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 17, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>In addition to Upshaw, the Jets are also hosting Saints tight end Josh Hill, and Broncos WR\/PR Jordan Norwood.<\/p>\n<p>The 6&#8242; 5&#8221; Hill is a three-year pro with 36 receptions for 340 yards and 8 touchdowns. \u00a0If signed, Hill could add another solid red zone option to go along with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker as 7 of his 8 career scores have come inside the opponent&#8217;s 20-yard line. \u00a0Not willing to allow Hill simply walk out the door, the Saints did make him a qualifying offer, allowing New Orleans first right of refusal for any offer Hill receives.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Saints TE Josh Hill, who visited Jets, is a restricted FA, tendered at lowest level.
