{"id":31469,"date":"2016-01-11T22:11:48","date_gmt":"2016-01-12T02:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=31469"},"modified":"2016-01-11T22:11:48","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T02:11:48","slug":"new-york-jets-add-three-more-with-futurereserve-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2016\/01\/11\/new-york-jets-add-three-more-with-futurereserve-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Sign Four to Future\/Reserve Contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Glenn Naughton<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> <strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2016\/01\/05\/new-york-jets-announce-futurereserve-signings\/\">signing nine players<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to future\/reserve contracts last week, the Jets today announced the signing\u00a0of four more players to such deals.<\/p>\n<p>If you were keeping tabs on the Jets practice squad throughout the season, one of the four names should sound familiar as project offensive lineman and<span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\u00a0<strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2015\/11\/14\/tj-barnes-returns-new-york-jets-add-former-discus-thrower\/\">former British discus thrower<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Lawrence Okoye was one of the four players listed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We have signed OL Lawrence Okoye to a reserve\/future contract.<\/p>\n<p>Details on all four signees &gt;&gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MFhllnhbqk\">https:\/\/t.co\/MFhllnhbqk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; New York Jets (@nyjets) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nyjets\/status\/686671186508550144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>The additional three names are new to Gang Green.<\/p>\n<p>OT Jesse Davis, TE Adrien Robinson and OG Craig Watts were announced via the team&#8217;s official twitter account.<\/p>\n<p>The 6&#8242; 6&#8221; 298 lb Davis played his college football at the University of Idaho where he was converted from the defensive line to offensive tackle. \u00a0He amassed 28 tackles and 3 sacks on defense for Idaho before making the switch. \u00a0According to profootballrumors.com, the Jets had Davis in for a tryout on December 23rd and clearly saw something they liked.<\/p>\n<p>OG Craig Watts was another lineman the Jets auditioned in December and he too was added. \u00a0The big 6&#8242; 3&#8221; 334 lb former West Texas A&amp;M product has spent time with the San Diego Chargers practice squad and was on the active roster for one week in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>TE Adrien Robinson is a former \u00a0fourth round pick of the New York Giant who attended the University of Cincinnati where he played both tight end and wide receiver but lacked any real production. \u00a0In four college seasons, Robinson logged 29 receptions for \u00a0434 yards and \u00a05 scores.<\/p>\n<p>Through 19 pro appearances (1 start) with the Giants, Robinson hauled in 5 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown, all in 2014. \u00a0He has been plagued by injuries since turning pro.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his limited production and injuries, Robinson may get a chance to compete at the tight end spot where incumbents Jeff Cumberland and Kellen Davis were invisible on offense in 2015, combining for just 8 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown last season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Glenn Naughton &nbsp; After signing nine players to future\/reserve contracts last week, the Jets today announced the signing\u00a0of four more players to such deals.
