{"id":2849,"date":"2009-09-06T15:07:36","date_gmt":"2009-09-06T20:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=2849"},"modified":"2019-11-27T08:08:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T12:08:46","slug":"jets-trade-for-qb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2009\/09\/06\/jets-trade-for-qb\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Trade For QB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Jets made a trade today with the Detroit Lions to bring in ex-Patriot QB Kevin O&#8217;Connell.\u00a0 O&#8217;Connell was recently waived by the New England Patriots and the Jets had put in a claim for him.\u00a0 He was awarded to Detroit based on them having a worse record less season.\u00a0 He was originally drafted by New England in the third round on the 2008 draft (94th overall).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.rotoworld.com\/content\/playerpages\/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&amp;hl=150255&amp;id=4710\" href=\"http:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Per Rotoworld<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Jets acquired QB Kevin O&#8217;Connell from the Lions in exchange for undisclosed compensation.<\/p>\n<div>Detroit did a nice job of getting something for nothing here; GM Martin Mayhew is using his No. 1 waiver priority wisely. From the Jets&#8217; perspective, the move may signal the end of the Kellen Clemens experiment. Erik Ainge was more productive in preseason games.
