{"id":27599,"date":"2015-01-16T15:38:23","date_gmt":"2015-01-16T19:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=27599"},"modified":"2022-04-01T03:08:37","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T07:08:37","slug":"bowles-imports-kacy-rodgers-to-oversee-defense-new-york-jets-todd-bowles-rex-ryan-joe-danna-karl-rodgers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2015\/01\/16\/bowles-imports-kacy-rodgers-to-oversee-defense-new-york-jets-todd-bowles-rex-ryan-joe-danna-karl-rodgers\/","title":{"rendered":"Something Fishy About Jets Coaching Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As New York Jets fans\u00a0happily watch the departure of last season&#8217;s coaching staff as they work their way up to Western New York to join Rex Ryan\u00a0in Buffalo, Jets rookie head coach Todd Bowles seems to be reaching out to some old friends of his own from his time with the Miami Dolphins as well as his days as a collegiate player himself.<\/p>\n<p>Bowles worked in Miami from 2009-2011 after spending the 2005-2007 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.\u00a0 If Dolphins defensive line coach Karl Rodgers joins Bowles&#8217; staff <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapSheet\/status\/555402518004789249\">as expected<\/a>, he would be the\u00a0third former Miami assistant brought on board with rumors of a possible\u00a0fourth on the way.\u00a0 New offensive coordinator <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2015\/01\/15\/27586-chan-gailey-new-york-jets-geno-smith-todd-bowles\/\">Chan Gailey <\/a>has ties to the Dolphins (but not to Bowles)\u00a0from his work as their offensive coordinator in 2000 and 2001.\u00a0 Joe Danna, a defensive backs coach,\u00a0is already on board with Bowles and was a part of the Dolphins staff\u00a0 during\u00a0the 2010 and 2011 seasons in which the two worked together.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Gailey, Rodgers and Danna, it\u00a0is being\u00a0reported that the Atlanta Falcons denied the Jets request to interview their special teams coach Keith Armstrong.\u00a0 Armstrong ran Miami&#8217;s special teams from 2001-2007 before heading to Atlanta where he has been ever since.\u00a0\u00a0 Like Gailey, Armstrong wasn&#8217;t present with Bowles&#8217;
