He has said he\u2019d consider taking a pay cut, but either that wasn\u2019t an option or the two sides couldn\u2019t agree on an acceptable pay rate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Holmes is set to receive a $1 million roster bonus on March 13, so his release would occur before that date. The receiver has dealt with injuries over the last two unproductive seasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Jets will clear $8.25 million in salary space by releasing Holmes.
