Now, Ryan was firing Sparano Sr., but he wanted Sparano Jr. to stay with the Jets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to lie, there was some awkwardness,\u201d Ryan said recently, \u201cbut I knew I wanted to keep him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The conversation was a success, and Sparano Jr. stayed with the Jets despite his father\u2019s dismissal.
