The New York Jets beat the Cleveland Browns by a score of 24 to 13 today at Metlife Stadium. \u00a0The Jets ended the (home) season with an impressive 6 and 2 record at home this season. \u00a0Geno Smith had a 91.7 quarterback rating on the day, his second highest of the season. \u00a0He threw for 214 yards and completed 20 of 36 passes with 3 touchdowns (2 passing – 1 rushing). \u00a0Geno showed improved pocket awareness and avoided making big mistakes. \u00a0He threw the ball away several times when nothing was open and he ran for 48 yards himself.<\/p>\n
The ground game was in full effect as well as the Jets ran for over 200 yards as a team. \u00a0The offensive line did an excellent job in pass protection as Geno Smith was not sacked at all against the Browns.<\/p>\n
Jeremy Kerley had several big catches and ended up with 70 yards on the day. \u00a0Four of Kerley’s five catches were on 3rd down. \u00a0David Nelson caught two touchdown passes for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n
Here are some notes on the defense:<\/p>\n
Muhammad Wilkerson: \u00a0Had half a sack and now leads the team with 10.5 sacks on the season.<\/p>\n
Dee Milliner: He spent the day with the tough task of covering Josh Gordon and Milliner stepped up to the challenge. \u00a0He also\u00a0recorded his first-career interception when he picked off Campbell\u2019s pass intended for WR Greg Little in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
Calvin Pace: \u00a0He\u00a0registered his 10th sack on the season, increasing his career high. With the sack, he and Wilkerson (10.5) became the first Jets duo to record double-digit sacks in the same season since Joe Klecko (20.5) and Mark Gastineau (20) accomplished the feat in 1981.<\/p>\n
Also recording sacks in the game were Quinton Coples who had half a sack (4.5 on the season) and Leger Douzable who had half sacks on two straight plays in the 2nd half.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
