{"id":2188,"date":"2009-03-05T19:40:39","date_gmt":"2009-03-06T00:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=2188"},"modified":"2009-03-05T19:40:39","modified_gmt":"2009-03-06T00:40:39","slug":"jets-make-employees-take-unpaid-leave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2009\/03\/05\/jets-make-employees-take-unpaid-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Make Employees Take Unpaid Leave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was an interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsday.com\/sports\/football\/jets\/ny-spjstaff0306,0,4897045.story\" target=\"_blank\">article in Newsday<\/a> today about how the Jets are making their employees take a two week unpaid leave this off-season.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The New York Jets are telling employees on the business side of the team&#8217;s operations to take two weeks of unpaid leave this offseason, rather than cut jobs as several other teams and the league office have done in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The team announced the plan Thursday to employees, who&#8217;ll take two-week furloughs during a four-week period in late-June and early July, Matt Higgins, the team&#8217;s executive vice president of business operations, told The Associated Press.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Luckily the Jets are letting the coaching staff work during these tough times.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The departments affected include marketing, media relations, finance and business operations.
