In a move that isn’t a surprise, the Jets resigned QB Brady Quinn today.\u00a0 Once it became clear that Matt Simms was going to be the backup for the week one matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it seemed very likely that the Jets would temporarily cut Quinn.\u00a0 By not having him on the week on roster they ensured that his contract is not guaranteed for the season.\u00a0 Now they can simply pay him for the weeks that he is on the roster.<\/p>\n
How long Quinn will be around depends on the status of Mark Sanchez.\u00a0 We will keep you posted.<\/p>\n
