{"id":20339,"date":"2013-06-24T01:22:10","date_gmt":"2013-06-24T05:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=20339"},"modified":"2013-06-24T01:24:38","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T05:24:38","slug":"thoughts-from-the-airport-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/06\/24\/thoughts-from-the-airport-part-two\/","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts From The Airport Part Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just spent a week waiting in lines at Disney World, which gave me a lot of time to think about the Jets.\u00a0 As I sit in the airport waiting to fly back home, I am going to share those thoughts with you.\u00a0 I know what you are thinking, <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/06\/29\/ny-jets-thoughts-from-the-airport\/\">I did this last year<\/a> and I could not have been further off base.\u00a0 The past is behind us and it is a new season, for the Jets and my predictions.\u00a0 That said, I do admit that my predictions last season were terrible.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some thoughts for this season:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rex Ryan is fighting for his job<\/strong> this season and to quote a line from Rocky Balboa he &#8220;has to go out the way he has to go out&#8221;.\u00a0 That means blitzing, blitzing and more blitzing.\u00a0 The Jets were boring last year.\u00a0 I am really not sure what theory to believe behind the departure of Mike Pettine.\u00a0 Regardless, Rex is in charge and he will be calling the plays like his job depends on it; because it does.\u00a0 That means they will be aggressive, like they were during Rex&#8217;s first two seasons.\u00a0 The Jets defense will rank in the top 3 in the NFL when the season is over.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Is it <strong>Braylon Edwards<\/strong> time yet?\u00a0 Seriously when will the Jets admit that their <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/06\/06\/wide-receiver-woes\/\">wide receiver woes<\/a> are real?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mark Sanchez<\/strong> is going to beat out Geno Smith and start the season as the starting QB of the NY Jets.\u00a0 I know, most of you don&#8217;t want that to happen but the Jets have invested so much in Mark, it actually makes sense to see what he can do under Marty Morhinweg.\u00a0 If things don&#8217;t go well it should be a real short glimpse but Mark will win the job in camp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Signing <strong>Kellen Winslow Jr.<\/strong> is a move that will pay dividends for the Jets this season.\u00a0 Winslow will have more yards receiving this year than Dustin Keller averages for his career.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 It means that Winslow will have at least 576 yards receiving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There is too much fuss about <strong>Quinton Coples<\/strong> being moved to linebacker.\u00a0 When the games count Coples won&#8217;t be runing down the field chasing a tight end.\u00a0 He will be doing what he does best;
