Antonio Cromartie has come from a long way from his rather\u00a0embarrassing moment on Hard Knocks when he struggled to name his seven children. Cro has exceeded expectations in play since being traded from San Diego to New York in 2010 and seems to be taking more of a leadership role when he\u00a0announced\u00a0he will hold a Jets DB’s camp before training camp.<\/p>\n

With Darrelle Revis gone for good, can Cromartie elevate his play even more? Can he become the best corner in the league? Apparently he has told the New York Post’s Brian Costello he can, but he doesn’t want to. This is part of a post<\/a> from ProFootballTalk.com:<\/p>\n

Specifically, Cromartie thinks he can be the best cornerback in the NFL.\u00a0 But he doesn\u2019t really want to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan I be?\u00a0 Yes. \u00a0Do I care to be? No,\u201d Cromartie recently told Brian Costello of the New York Post<\/em>.\u00a0 \u201cIf we\u2019re winning and I\u2019m doing the things I need to do, then that\u2019s what it\u2019s really all about.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bizarrely mature comment from Cromartie that could get lost in the headline.\u00a0 He\u2019s basically saying that he\u2019s more interested in team accomplishments than individual accolades.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s nice to hear things like this from Cro, and who knows, if he puts together another year like 2012, maybe he will be considered the best corner in the league.<\/p>\n
