New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez<\/a> has spent a vast portion of the offseason working with former quarterback Jeff Garcia<\/a> in an attempt to learn new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg\u2019s west coast offense.\u00a0 <\/span>Sanchez knows this is a \u201cmake or break\u201d year for him with the Jets.<\/p>\n Coming off a very difficult 2012 season which Sanchez was replaced as the starter by Greg McElroy, only to regain the position later after McElroy suffered a concussion, he has stayed out of the public eye saying almost nothing.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n Sanchez finally broke his silence during a Fox Sports Radio interview where a multitude of subjects were touched on including Tim Tebow and the organization\u2019s decision to allow ESPN coverage of the Jets training camp practices mostly because of Tebow\u2019s presence.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n “I just don\u2019t know if it was the best situation for either of us (Sanchez and Tebow), but you play with the cards you are dealt with and do the very best you can,\u201d he said. \u201cESPN didn\u2019t necessarily sneak in overnight at our training camp. They had to get permission to go.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Sanchez went on to describe Tebow as a \u201cnice guy\u201d who \u201cworks hard.\u201d<\/p>\n Sanchez mentioned his feelings on head coach Rex Ryan needing to \u201cprove himself\u201d this season.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI think we enjoy playing for Rex. We know he\u2019s a great motivator, and he\u2019s passionate about what he does, and we\u2019ve seen him be successful,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen him put this team in a good position and a successful position. I am confident in Rex.\u201d<\/p>\n Describing Mornhinweg\u2019s west coast offense as \u201cdifferent\u201d Sanchez said he was \u201cexcited about (playing in) the system.\u201d\u00a0 He also praised second-year wide receiver Stephen Hill saying, \u201cStephen (Hill) just seeing these last couple days in workouts, he looks like a different person, he looks so much more developed just physically, emotionally and mentally … he\u2019s going to make a big jump I think this year.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n Sanchez discussed the vast amount of injuries the Jets offense had especially at receiver, \u201cI don\u2019t think we had a single receiver make it through the entire season.\u201d\u00a0 He mentioned the passing game \u201clast year wasn\u2019t out best\u201d due to the lack of constancy at the receiver position but added he wished he had played \u201ca little better at times.\u201d<\/p>\n The Jets quarterback showed confidence in new general manager John Idzik saying, \u201cI know Mr. John Idzik is going to make the right decisions come this draft and try and help this ball club, so I\u2019m really positive and optimistic about the direction we\u2019re heading.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has spent a vast portion of the offseason working with former quarterback Jeff Garcia in an attempt to learn new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg\u2019s west coast offense.\u00a0 Sanchez knows this is a \u201cmake or break\u201d year for him with the Jets.
