Today was the start of the New York Jets voluntary workouts and star cornerback Darrelle Revis was in attendance after having an MRI on his injured knee.<\/p>\n

It appears the results<\/a> were positive:<\/p>\n

Revis received good news Monday morning from surgeon Dr. Russell Warren, who told Revis he is ahead of schedule and cleared him to run on his own, according to a source.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Inaccurate reports have surfaced all over the media that the Jets are forcing Revis<\/a> to attend \u201cvoluntary\u201d workouts or he\u2019ll forfeit $3 million in offseason bonus money.<\/p>\n

This is of course not the case as Revis has an incentive in his contract to attend these workouts worth $1 million.\u00a0 <\/span>It is Revis\u2019 choice to attend or not but the Jets are not going to pay him the million if he does not fulfill the contract requirements nor should they.\u00a0 <\/span>As long as Revis attends all other mandatory activities he will not lose any other bonuses.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe it is possible Revis would like his million dollar bonus and has decided to attend the workouts on his own?\u00a0 <\/span>The New York Jets do have trainers and facilities for rehabilitation from an injury.<\/p>\n

ProFootballTalk.<\/a>com\u2019s Mike Florio has been on record that a Revis trade was imminent but seemed to soften his stance some just in case:<\/p>\n

Though there has been some speculation that Idzik thinks he could persuade Revis to sign a long-term deal, the Jets aren\u2019t behaving like a franchise that has Revis in the long-term plans.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
