{"id":18636,"date":"2013-03-18T21:28:36","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T01:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=18636"},"modified":"2013-03-18T21:30:35","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T01:30:35","slug":"jets-draft-selections-set-as-nfl-announces-compensatory-picks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/03\/18\/jets-draft-selections-set-as-nfl-announces-compensatory-picks\/","title":{"rendered":"Jets Draft Selections Set As NFL Announces Compensatory Picks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/nfllabor.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/03-18-13-compensatory-draft-picks.pdf\">NFL announced<\/a> compensatory draft selections today.\u00a0 The criteria for awarding these extra draft picks, of which the Jets got none, are explained below:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A total of 32 compensatory choices in the 2013 NFL Draft have been awarded to 16 teams, the NFL announced today.<\/p>\n<p>Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.<\/p>\n<p>Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council.
