{"id":17506,"date":"2013-01-08T11:03:42","date_gmt":"2013-01-08T15:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=17506"},"modified":"2013-01-08T11:07:58","modified_gmt":"2013-01-08T15:07:58","slug":"ny-jets-gm-job-still-open-caldwell-to-get-second-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/01\/08\/ny-jets-gm-job-still-open-caldwell-to-get-second-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"NY Jets GM Job Still Open Caldwell To Get Second Interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems as if the Jets search for a new general manager has taken a turn.\u00a0 It was widely <a title=\"New York Jets Closing In On Gamble As New GM\" href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/01\/05\/new-york-jets-closing-in-on-gamble-as-new-gm\/\">reported<\/a> that San Francisco 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble was going to replace Mike Tannenbaum as the team\u2019s GM. \u00a0It was assumed Gamble would become GM after reports surfaced that he canceled a second interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars for their GM job.\u00a0 Gamble to the Jets does not look as <a title=\"NY Jets Part Ways With OC Sparano\" href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2013\/01\/08\/new-york-jets-part-ways-with-oc-sparano\/\">defiant<\/a> as previously thought because he is still interviewing with other organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets did <a href=\"http:\/\/newyork.cbslocal.com\/2013\/01\/07\/marc-ross-scott-cohen-up-next-in-jets-gm-search\/\">interview <\/a>New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross on Monday for the GM position but it was wide thought this was done just to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsday.com\/sports\/football\/jets\/jets-to-interview-giants-marc-ross-and-scott-cohen-for-gm-1.4413771\">satisfy<\/a> the NFL\u2019s \u201cRooney Rule\u201d which requires teams to interview a minority candidate for certain positions within the organization and Gamble would be named GM soon after.<\/p>\n<p>According to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter the Jets have scheduled a second interview with Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell today for their GM position:<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Falcons director of player personnel Dave Caldwell is scheduled to interview today a second time with the NY Jets for their GM job.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash;
