{"id":14011,"date":"2012-08-04T17:54:23","date_gmt":"2012-08-04T21:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jetnation.com\/?p=14011"},"modified":"2022-04-01T02:47:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T06:47:09","slug":"former-jets-safety-jim-leonhard-signs-with-denver-broncos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/08\/04\/former-jets-safety-jim-leonhard-signs-with-denver-broncos\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Jets Safety Jim Leonhard Signs With Denver Broncos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rotoworld.com\/player\/nfl\/3465\/jim-leonhard\"> Roto-World Ex-Jets safety Jim \u201cJimmy\u201d Leonhard<\/a> has agreed to a one year contract with the Denver Broncos.<\/p>\n<p>Leonhard, a fan favorite, was known as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/blogs\/jetsblog\/jets_won_re_sign_safety_jim_leonhard_VG8uiSJ9hG2EJNNZJAcuIM\">\u201cquarterback\u201d<\/a> of the secondary but back-to-back season ending injuries (broken leg, knee) made resigning Leonhard difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Leonhard told <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/04\/14\/jet-nation-interviews-safety-jim-leonhard\/\">JetNation during an interview <\/a>that he would be ready for beginning of the season and was open to returning to the Jets but offseason additions safeties <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/03\/19\/jets-sign-safety-laron-landry\/\">LaRon Landry<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/05\/18\/jets-add-veteran-safety-former-dolphin-yeremiah-bell\/\">Yeremiah Bell <\/a>made a <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/new-york\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/8178871\/new-york-jets-bring-back-veteran-safety-jim-leonhard\">Leonhard&#8217;s return <\/a>less likely.<\/p>\n<p>He gave thanks to all the Jets fans via twitter:<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thank you to all my fans in NY.
