As reported on<a title=\"Jets Sign Seventh Round Pick Safety Antonio Allen; Ellis Accepts Plea Deal Will Not Be Deported\" href=\"https:\/\/miletestsite.com\/jets\/2012\/05\/17\/jets-sign-seventh-round-pick-safety-antonio-allen-ellis-accepts-plea-deal-will-not-be-deported\/\"> Jet-Nation<\/a>, Ellis was facing felony charges stemming from a fight which occurred while he attended Hampton University.\u00a0 If convicted Ellis could have been deportation, since he is not a United States citizen, but he accepted a plea bargain reducing the charges to a misdemeanor, which will allow Ellis to remain in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ellis was sentenced to 90 days in prison but, with <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/blog\/new-york\/jets\/post\/_\/id\/12545\/ellis-will-miss-start-of-training-camp\">good behavior<\/a>, is expected to be out in 45.\u00a0 He will begin serving his prison term on June 15, a day after mini-camp finishes, and will rejoin the team a few days into training camp.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the legal process is over Ellis faces possible <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/blog\/new-york\/jets\/post\/_\/id\/12524\/ellis-subject-to-nfl-review\">disciplinary action from the league <\/a>for violating the NFL\u2019s \u201cPersonal Code of Conduct\u201d policy in the form of suspension and\/or fine.\u00a0 The matter is being reviewed by league officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The legal issue facing Jets nose tackle Kenrick Ellis has finally come to a conclusion.
