Last night\u2019s Match for Michael<\/a> charity event co-hosted by Jets coach Mike Pettine, turned out to be a huge success.\u00a0 I pre-registered online which let me cut a crowd of people and go into the room where you get \u201cswabbed\u201d to see if you are a potential match for someone who is in need of a donor.\u00a0 After I was fully registered, I walked around and took in the scene.\u00a0 In one room there was a silent auction with very excellent prizes.\u00a0 There were cupcakes everywhere, 300 of them to be exact, donated by a local bakery.<\/p>\n

In the main ballroom there was what I called \u201creporter corner.\u201d\u00a0 Rex along with Sione Pouha and Aaron Maybin were interviewed here.\u00a0 I tweeted this during the event and meant it – Rex looked great.\u00a0 Aaron Maybin and Mark Sanchez have been rumored to be gaining muscle mass, and they are.<\/p>\n

Later in the evening the fans lined up for pictures and autographs with the players and coaches.\u00a0 Generally the turnout of donors and possible matches was huge.\u00a0 If the Jets did not help promote this, I am sure half of those people would not register, me included.\u00a0 I can now say I am passionate about this important cause, and look forward becoming more involved and even more eager to see if I am a match and can save a life. I encourage everyone to do the same.\u00a0 I admire the New York Jets organization for all their charity work.\u00a0 Keep up the great work guys!<\/p>\n
