The Jaguars interviewed New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for their head coaching position on Friday, a day after general manager Gene Smith reportedly flew to Charlotte, N.C., to interview Carolina offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear where Schottenheimer\u2019s interview took place, but Jaguars owner Shahid Khan was in the New York area on Friday. Schottenheimer was also a candidate to be Florida\u2019s offensive coordinator but withdrew his name from consideration because he would prefer to coach in the NFL.<\/p>\n
Schottenheimer has spent the past six seasons with the Jets, but he has come under fire along with quarterback Mark Sanchez after the Jets finished 8-8 and failed to make the playoffs this season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
